I am going to go out on a limb and guess you live in the mountain!? At one time we were stationed in Alaska; the mountains were gorgeous but then again Alaska is a beautiful state. What are your thoughts on this week’s relaxation exercise? I need a great deal more practice in training my mind to rid itself of outside disturbances.
Hello Michelle, I couldn't agree with you more about Alaska. We went on our honeymoon there. It was amazing and the views are breathtaking. Yes, I do live at an elevation of 9000 feet up in the mountains in Colorado and the views are just amazing.
I thought the relaxation exercise was very soothing with the music and the narrative's voice. We get so wrapped up with outside disturbances that we don't take the time to relax ourselves. I have soft rhythms from an app on my phone and I listen to it every night and the music relaxes me as I rest.
When I first listened to this weeks exercise, the music was very soothing and calming. As the man began to speak, it got my attention first but I then drifted away and couldn't not complete the exercises.
Hi Anjelica, I think Alaska is an amazing place, and would love to go there someday! It seems so peaceful and sirene! I could not handle leaving there in the winter time. I think it's great that you got to experience the beauty as well as the peacefullness of Alaska. Kandi
My Physical Well Being- 7 I rate my physical well being a 7 because overall, I feel great about myself. My parents were good role models and they taught me that exercise and nutrition were very important in living longer and taking care of ourselves. It is a choice we make and we need to take care ourselves as we age. I believe I can do more by participating in other sports activities. My Spiritual Well Being-7 My Spiritual Well- I have always been spiritually inclined. I grew up in a strict Catholic family and I have always made sure I never lost faith and kept a close connection to God for most of my life. For me, the Bible is an instructional book to the way of life and making the decision to follow His Word is the best route I will ever take. I have spiritual connection with my friends that we come together and share the same faith. My Psychological Well Being-7 I rate my psychological well- being at 7 because I have always been the go-getter and a positive person. I rarely fall into a depressive state and if I know I am, I know how to get myself up feeling great again.
Physical Goal: I have is to maintain a regimen of exercise and diet that will become a lifestyle to build on. Right now, I strength train twice a week and run 3 miles 2 times a week. I like to add more running in the week and add martial arts as a goal to accomplish this year. A Spiritual Goal: I have to read the Bible everyday for 20 minutes. I listen to lot of positive tapes, go to church and listen to uplifting music while I drive. As a goal, I like to read the Bible for 20 minutes when I wake up and before I sleep because I know I will have a great day the rest ahead. This is also a good role model for my children as they see me do it, they will in turn help them in their spiritual ways. Psychological Well-Being: I always like to please people and I can never say “no”. I need to be more assertive and know when to do that because sometimes it reflects my moods and I get stressed when I am unable to do something. I also need to be able to be flexible and not be so down about it if plans changes. I also need to work on not procrastinating. When I do procrastinate, I find myself stressing out and feeling overwhelmed. I have to learn to stay focus, not procrastinate, be flexible and learn to deal with stress and anxiety.
